Like the graphic?  I was going to have a different setup for this site, and that's part of the original design.  It was soooooo good, I couldn't help but use it.  This is where the magic happened.  This is why we went there, and where we spent about half of our weeks.  The European Parliament.  The building is relatively new, having just been constructed in the late 90s.  I worked for a Labour Member of the European Parliament (MEP), Peter Skinner, who represented the South East of England.  You can check out his website at www.peterskinnermep.com

Some of you may be asking what the European Parliament does.  You wouldn't be alone.  The Parliament is the only directly elected part of the European Union (apart from the heads of each individual state).  You would think this would give them a certain amount of power, but no... at this time, the Parliament does not have very much power over anything.  Their main function is to approve the budget.  And while the rest of the EU is quite happy with this arrangement (especially the Commission), the Parliament is attempting to attain more power for itself.
