A statue of Everard 't Serclaes, a martyr for Brussels. He was supposedly murdered while defending the city in the 14th century. Legend has it that if you touch the statue in a certain order, you will get goodluck. That's why the rest of the monument is black, but certain areas have been rubbed to a nice finish.
